Nasforyou Cruelty Free Vegan Halal Nail Polish Review

Hey Peaches,

I hope you are having a relaxed Sunday. My Sunday self care routine includes manicure and pedicure at the nail parlor. As we take care of our bodies, we have to beware of the chemicals that we consume in our bodies and expose to our environment through the skin care and beauty products we use. Other than ingredients, brand ethics really matter. Hence why it is important to be aware of brands that value their clients’ health and the environment as well.

Nasforyou Cruelty-free Vegan Halal Nailpolish

On today’s blog post, I am wearing Nasforyou halal nailpolish in the shade Dubai. It is a pinkish color but when exposed to a bright light the color changes to a peach look; it depends with the type  of lighting it’s exposed to.

Why  Nasforyou

Nasforyou nailpolish is halal, breathable O2M, vegan and cruelty free. Free of alcohol, paraben, animal products, animal testing and are water based – wudhu friendly.

Parabens are  a type of preservatives used to prolong shelf life in many health and beauty products by preventing the growth of mould and bacteria within them. They’re believed to disrupt hormone function by mimicking eostrogen. These harmful chemicals can trigger a breast cell division and growth of tumors which is why paraben use has been linked to breast cancer and reproductive issues.  They’re also harmful to the environment because they get washed into the sewage system, and released in our oceans, harming marine mammals and the environment. My Review on Nasforyou Nailpolish

Packaging

Nasforyou nailpolish delivery came in a classy white plastic-free packaging (except for the inside nailpolish holder) of 15ml nail polish glass bottles. I received 2 shades from the lovely Nasym: Dubai and Game-changer, accompanied with a clear base and top coat. I was a bit undecided on which color to wear, but my Peaches on Instagram helped me out by voting for the stunning Dubai, which I wore on Eid.

Application

With the help of a nail technician, I applied both nail polishes at intervals to see how they’d look on my nails before settling with Dubai. I started with Game-changer. At first, it was difficult to get the nailpolish to settle because the base coat had not dried up despite leaving it for one minute. It basically mixed with the first coat of Game-changer application. So I had to try it the second time with Dubai. This time I let the base coat dry for an extra minute, then applied the first coat of Dubai shade which settled well. After the second coat and clear top coat, the results were gorgeous!

I love how the nailpolish has a gel manicure shiny look. It radiates such a classy look. My manicure lasted me for 5 days after it started peeling off sometime on Friday. So I gently peeled them all off. The trick to getting a perfect look is to be patient enough with the base coat. My pedicure still looks perfect (8 days later) I don’t see the need of peeling it off. Like I always say, for your nailpolish to last, it depends on how well you maintain your nails; filing documents clearly won’t let my manicure prosper.

Nasforyou is a modesty fashion brand owned by Nasym Khan, an entrepreneur and Modesty Fashionista currently located in Nairobi-Kenya. Nasym Khan a.k.a Nasforyou

“It took me 2 years of proper research of cruelty free, vegan and halal products before I decided to start Nasforyou halal nailpolish, when I first launched in June 2019. I get the nail polishes manufactured in Dubai and make them available in my home country Kenya, extending to other countries in East Africa so as to make them easily available here.  Understandably, most people question about the certainty of praying with the nail polish. Yes, we can. Nasforyou halal nailpolish is breathable. Water and oxygen can pass through. The technology is similar to what is used in contact lenses. Furthermore, I have done permeability tests in comparison with other non-permeable brands to prove this. It’s also peal-able. Incase you have doubts about praying with it, you can easily peal it off before prayers and take your ablution once it’s completely peeled off.” Nasym Khan – Founder at Nasforyou

I honestly share the above sentiments with regards to prayers.

PS: Nasforyou have an ongoing Eid sale which until 15th August, for Kshs. 1,000/- only or buy 5+ pieces and receive free delivery nationwide. Thank me later 💅🏽
